Audio settings
Audio settings live in the Audio dialog on the Live screen. Tap the audio row to open it. You can change everything here while the stream is idle — the settings lock during an active stream.
Audio source
Section titled “Audio source”The Audio source dropdown lists every input the device has detected. Pick the one you want to stream.
If you’ve used a source before but it’s no longer connected, it still appears in the list marked as unavailable. You can leave it selected, but the stream won’t carry audio until you plug the source back in or choose a different one.
Choosing a source is required. If you open the dialog and the source field shows an error, select a source before saving — the Save button stays disabled until you do.
Audio codec
Section titled “Audio codec”The Audio codec dropdown lets you choose how audio is compressed for the stream. The options depend on what your device supports, but typically include:
- AAC — the default. Widely compatible with streaming platforms and receivers.
- Opus — lower latency, good quality at lower bitrates.
- PCM — uncompressed. Use this only if your receiver specifically requires it.
The codec selector is disabled until you’ve chosen an audio source. It’s also locked during an active stream — codec changes take effect on the next stream start.
Audio delay
Section titled “Audio delay”The Audio delay slider lets you shift audio forward or backward relative to the video, in milliseconds. The center position (0 ms) means no adjustment.
- Drag right (positive values) to delay the audio — use this when audio arrives ahead of the video.
- Drag left (negative values) to advance the audio — use this when video arrives ahead of the audio.
The current value shows in the top-right corner of the slider as you drag. Changes here apply without restarting the stream.
Verifying audio is captured
Section titled “Verifying audio is captured”Once you’ve saved your settings and started the stream, watch the bitrate in the HUD bar at the bottom of the screen. A stream carrying audio will show a higher bitrate than video alone. If the number is lower than you expect, double-check that your audio source is connected and selected.
You can also confirm audio is reaching your receiver by checking the ingest stats on the Live screen while streaming.
Encoder configurations without audio
Section titled “Encoder configurations without audio”Some encoder configurations don’t carry audio. If yours doesn’t, the Audio dialog shows a notice instead of the source and codec controls. Open the Encoder settings and switch to a configuration that includes audio if you need it.
